I wouldn’t have put Chanel and Pop-up shop in the same sentence, but here it is! Cannes Film Festival provided the perfect event to launch a new innovative Chanel space. When you think of the pop-up concept you think of cardboard and makeshift furniture, but here it’s completely different, luxurious. The 300 square metre space joins onto the existing store on Boulevard de la Croisette, there is no expense spared, with gold tiled walls and a dedicated make up and nail bar.
The shop houses a small exhibition space, showing various gowns and suits worn by celebrities to the Film event. There’s also a private lounge on the first floor with views of the red carpet leading up to the Palais des Festivals. I love the use of strong contrast between the colour, gold, the black and white make the space simply elegant, pretty much what Chanel stands for.
